  • Boat Hire

Boat Hire - Thidays Ocean Adventures

As a family, we love being out on the ocean, we've thoroughly enjoyed previous boats excursions as a passenger. We decided to take a boat and have a go at skippering it ourselves along the coast to the beautiful Papagyo Beaches. There was also plenty of time to jump into the sea and have a snorkel around.

We would highly recommend this trip, do mention Villa Ventura Lanzarote Playa Blanca if you book.

  • Catamaran to La Graciosa

One of our favourite excursions, is to visit the beautiful Island of La Graciosa.

You can get collected from a nearby hotel, take a coach to Orzola where you get onboard the stunning catamaran and set sail to Graciosa. Where you can explore the small island by foot or hire bikes. There's plenty of opportunity to snorkel, swim or kayak.

  • Chill Out Cruise

We jumped on board, kicked back and relaxed for the next 2 hours. Taking in all of the beautiful southern coastline all the way up to the beaches at Papagyo.

The boat went just around the southern most tip of the island. You can see up the coast towards Puerto del Carmen and Arrecife.

Then the boat headed back to stop close to one of the beaches at Papagyo. At this point we were invited to snorkel, swim, use the canoes or just kick back and relax. We were supplied us with Sangria, water and soft drinks too.

  • La Bocaina Catering Private Chef Services

Treat Yourself to a Special Meal with a Private Chef experience. Chef Donna, came over to Villa Ventura ready to cook up a storm with a BBQ menu that blew us away.

Chef Donna set the table beautifully, cleaned up afterwards, and left the kitchen sparkling clean. It was a wonderful treat that allowed us to relax and enjoy time with our family and friends and we literally didn't lift a finger, apart from filling our glasses. Thank you Donna!

We can't recommend La Bocaina Private Chef services enough. And the best part? It's surprisingly affordable, starting at just €15 per person.

  • Lanzarote's 'Ghost Hotel'

If any of you have taken the walk to the top of Montana Roja, you may have seen the infamous 'Ghost Hotel' - Atlante del Sol in the distance, nestled on the coast North West of Playa Blanca.

We don't know exactly why it was never completed, but there are several stories suggesting it was an illegal structure, or the developer wanted it to be a golf resort but grass wouldn't grow on the baron terrain.

Whatever the story, it is an interesting place and you can actually walk to it, the coastline is stunning.

  • Montana Roja - The Most Incredible Views

Just a short walk from Villa Ventura Lanzarote Playa Blanca, it takes around 20-30 minutes to get to the top, depending on your fitness levels. It's not too strenuous, wear sensible shoes and maybe take a sweater, it can get windy.

The views are breathtaking. I'll simply say just that. Go and explore, it's definitely worth it.

  • Puerto Calero Marina

Puerto Calero Marina is just a 20 minute drive away from Playa Blanca and is a perfect place to have a chilled afternoon in the sunshine. It is a gorgeous marina with some nice shops and a great choice of restaurants.

We have sampled food in many of the restaurants and have always really enjoyed the food and the service.

Most recently we tried Pappardellas. It is a great Italian restaurant with lots of choice for the whole family. The Calzone was incredible by the way!

  • Rubicon Diving

If you've never done any Scuba diving before, or you're a master diver, the Museo Atlantico is a wonderful experience.

We started with basic diving training around the Marina area. After lunch, we returned to the dive centre to do our proper dive down to the Museo del Atlantico. Just a short speed boat ride to the bay close to Gran Castillo Hotel and Papagyo Beach.

We cannot recommend the team at Rubicon Diving Lanzarote enough. They took great care of us and made it a wonderful experience throughout.

  • Smileboat Lanzarote

    Thinking about a boat excursion?

Well look no further than Smileboat Lanzarote! Zaki organised a fantastic trip for us. The skipper, David, made us all very welcome and set sail from the port heading along the coast towards the Papagyo beaches.

It was incredible value for money too, working out at just €360 for 3 hours.

They have several other trips and excursions available.

  • Timanfaya National Park

You simply have to visit Timanfaya if you come to Lanzarote.

The dramatic volcanic landscape covers a quarter of the island. It was created over a six year period of continuous volcanic eruptions, taking place between 1730 and 1736. The landscape stretches for miles, it is like being on another planet.

You can book an excursion and be collected by coach from one of several local hotels, or take the short drive yourself, be sure to arrive early as queues to get in the National Park get very long.

You can sample some of the Volcano BBQ'd dishes in the restaurant. Do try and get a window seat, the views are stunning.

  • Tapas

There are so many great Tapas Restaurants in Playa Blanca, we are spoilt for choice.

The Two places that stood out recently, La Cuadra on Calle Limones and Restaurante Típico Español on Av. de Papagyo.

Enjoy sunset dinners with amazing food and excellent service.
